In the event of the account holder’s death, in order to include the financial instruments held by the deceased in the estate, the heirs may contact a public notary directly to obtain an account summary confirming all financial instrument holdings of the deceased person. Public notaries may obtain the account summary required for inheritance proceedings under the Cooperation Protocol concluded between the Central Depository and the National Centre for the Administration of National Notarial Registers. The heirs may also obtain the account statement/account summary for the deceased directly from the Central Depository in Bucharest. -
How can shares be transferred from a deceased person to the heir(s)?
Direct transfers of financial instruments from the account of a deceased person to the accounts of the heirs are carried out, at their request, by the Central Depository.
