The power of action lies in our hands! Antibiotice Iași invests in the education of gifted children from rural areas
As Easter approaches, the “Antibiotice – Science and Soul” Foundation, together with Antibiotice employees, brought joy and hope to the 97 scholarship students of the ProRuralis program. In addition to festive packages, the students also received books—true guides on their path of learning and growth—as part of a social responsibility initiative that has become a tradition: “The Power of Action”.
These students, aged between 11 and 19, come from underprivileged families and stand out through their intelligence and strong determination to succeed. Each received traditional Easter sweets, a personal care package, a health kit with Antibiotice products, and age-appropriate books, carefully selected and donated by Antibiotice employees from their personal libraries. The students themselves chose the books—ranging from required reading for the baccalaureate exam to authors recommended in class—expressing a keen interest in further exploring the literary world suggested by their teachers.
Volunteers from the “Antibiotice – Science and Soul” Foundation visited the students at their high schools in Iași—among them: “Costache Negruzzi” National College, “Octav Băncilă” National College of Arts, “Vasile Lupu” National Pedagogical College, and “Grigore Moisil” Theoretical High School of Computer Science—and left with their hearts full. They didn’t just give—they also received. Every student, with emotion and gratitude, offered a letter, a card, or a poem—sincere thoughts and life lessons from young people who, despite adversity, choose every day to believe in education.
Guided by the belief that behind good academic results often lies a silent struggle with hardship, Antibiotice employees who volunteered for this initiative chose to invest in the education and support of talented children. The help provided is sustainable—it goes beyond the festive moment and contributes to building a brighter future.
Education – an investment in the future
For over 20 years, the “Antibiotice – Science and Soul” Foundation has supported five ProRuralis scholarships each month, helping young people from low-income families—but with extraordinary potential—fulfill their dreams. This year, that ongoing effort was strengthened by the “Power of Action” project, which promotes social engagement and supports initiatives with real impact in the community.
“Each year, around Easter, our foundation has offered essential food packages to families in need through the ‘Power of Action’ initiative. While this responded to a real, immediate need, in 2025 we wanted to shift our perspective: from immediate aid to long-term investment—through education, care, and the recognition of the efforts made by children fighting for a better future. Investing in these students means investing in people who will one day change the world”, said Ioana Tode, President of the “Antibiotice – Science and Soul” Foundation.
About ProRuralis
The ProRuralis program offers annual scholarships that give exceptional children from rural areas the chance to study at top high schools in Iași. Selected students are supported from the 5th grade onward and benefit from full accommodation and meals, with all costs covered by public and private sponsors. These talented young people, though from families with limited resources, are supported in following their dreams and becoming individuals who can shape the world of tomorrow.
