Antibiotice Iași Invests €1.5 Million to Support Youth Employment Integration

• Antibiotice Iași launches “AntibioticeSkills”, a project aimed at the professional development of 251 students from Romania’s North-East Region.
• Co-funded by the European Social Fund+, the project has a total value of over 4.85 million lei.
• This is the second EU-funded project launched in the past six months, bringing the total investment in both initiatives to €1.5 million.

During this period, Antibiotice Iași is launching the project “AntibioticeSkills: Enhancing Student Skills and Facilitating Their Adaptation to the Labor Market” through which 251 students from the North-East Region will take part in internships in real-world work environments over a 24-month period.

Co-financed by the European Social Fund+ through the 2021–2027 Education and Employment Programme, the project is valued at over 4.85 million lei and focuses on developing technical, digital, and entrepreneurial skills among young people. It aims to prepare them for genuine and sustainable integration into the pharmaceutical industry and related sectors.

The project targets students in key disciplines such as pharmacy, medical bioengineering, engineering, chemistry, and economics—fields aligned with current labor market needs.

This project aligns with our strategy to invest in talented young people and offer them valuable learning experiences. It is supported by our a+ Academy, a platform dedicated to professional development, through which we continue to strengthen partnerships with both higher and secondary education institutions, ensuring the continuous training of future specialists to support the progress of the pharmaceutical industry”, said Ioan Nani, President & CEO of Antibiotice Iași.

Educational Partnerships for Professional Skills Development

The project beneficiaries will include 251 students from:
• The Faculty of Medical Bioengineering and the Faculty of Pharmacy, “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Iași;
• The Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași;
• The “Cristofor Simionescu” Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Energy and Applied Informatics, and the Faculty of Automatic Control and Computer Engineering, within the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași.

Through this initiative, Antibiotice Iași is reinforcing its collaboration with regional higher education institutions and contributing to the development of a new generation of professionals equipped for current labor market challenges.

Supporting Professional Integration

The project gives students access to real work environments within an internationally recognized pharmaceutical company, helping to enhance their professional and personal competencies. Moreover, by conducting a detailed analysis of labor market needs in the North-East Region, the project seeks to anticipate industry trends and adapt educational programs to better reflect current realities.

Continued Investment in Education and Professional Development

Under the a+ Academy initiative, Antibiotice Iași also launched the project “Education in Action: Enhancing the Accessibility and Relevance of Vocational and Technical Education Through Internships at Antibiotice SA” earlier this year, valued at over 2.45 million lei. This project is targeted at students in secondary, vocational, and technical education and is also co-funded by the European Social Fund.

Through these two projects, with a total value of approximately €1.5 million, Antibiotice Iași reaffirms its commitment to investing in human capital and actively contributing to improving the relevance and effectiveness of education for the labor market, by easing students’ transition into a competitive professional environment.
